Research

Developing Looking and Drawing Skills

"We pressed hard and light with a pencil."

"We did different types of lines, straight, wavy, squiggly, zig-zag, hoops, little lines and long lines."

"We drew shells, a pig, a necklace and a feather."

"We had to look very hard."

Colour Mixing with Pastels

"We picked two colours and rubbed them together."

"We used pastels."

"We were mixing colours."

"We used them to stick on our houses."

Clydach Buildings

Buildings of the future

"We were designing buildings of the future."

"We were thinking about different shaped houses - round houses, curved lines."

3D Buildings

"We made an outline shape of a house out of metal wire."

"It was bendy metal, it wasn't the hard metal like on pegs."

"We stuck the outline on the tissue paper then we cut around it."

"Then we made the other side."

"We had a piece of wood and drilled some holes and stuck them in."

"We used the colours we made with pastels and stuck them on the buildings."

Year 2 3D Buildings

Reception/Year 1 3D Buildings

Collage

"We created a collage."

"We used yellow, black, green and red paper."

"We stuck the colours onto white paper."

Our buildings need a black outline...

"We put tracing paper over the top of our collage."

"You could see the lines through and we had to draw around the shapes using a pen."

"A black outline pen."

"We tried not to smudge with our hands."
